Cooling with a heat pump

The ATTACK Inverter R32 heat pump cools a home through fan coil units in summer and can use the same units for heating in winter.

Cooling with a heat pump

A heat pump keeps your home comfortable in summer too

Summer is one of our favourite seasons, but it also brings high temperatures. Climate change is expected to raise temperatures further in the coming decades. A comfortable indoor temperature helps with concentration, hobbies and restful sleep, so the whole family benefits from a pleasant home during hot months. The ATTACK heat pump makes efficient use of its potential in summer too. It cools the interior with fan coil units supplied with chilled water from the heat pump.

Heating and cooling in one system

A major advantage of a heat pump over other heat sources is its ability to maintain a comfortable temperature at home throughout the year.

How does heat-pump cooling work?

ATTACK heat-pump product range

The air-to-water ATTACK Inverter R32 heat pumps maintain the desired temperature 365 days a year. Cooling starts with correctly connecting a cooling system in the home. A service technician installs fan coil units alongside the heat pump. The heat pump cools the water in the heating system, and the fan coil units use cool air to bring the rooms to a comfortable temperature. In a correctly designed cooling system, the combined output of the fan coil units does not exceed the heat pump’s cooling capacity.

The heat pump offers two ways to control and set the cooling mode.

You can control cooling in two ways. 1. Graphic display: the indoor unit has a five-inch colour display with intuitive graphics; simply select cooling mode. 2. Mobile app: ATTACK Heating lets you control the heat pump from anywhere with internet access. You can cool the interior in advance, for example, before returning from work or holiday. The app also lets you schedule cooling for selected days and times. Once the heat pump has cooled the heating system, use the fan coil controller to choose the cooling intensity according to the outdoor temperature.

More ways to use fan coil units

A system with fan coil units can also provide heating during the heating season. The pipes that carry chilled water in summer can be used in winter as well. Warm water then flows through the same heating system, and the fan coil units deliver warm air. This can work alongside underfloor heating or radiators.
